  • Artificial Intelligence in Economic Learning Models (DE/ENG)

    Bachelor thesis

This bachelor's thesis should explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) models into economic learning models, focusing on the use of AI in simulations as a substitute for human participants in laboratory experiments. Through a comprehensive literature review, the thesis should examine recent advancements in AI-driven agents, their effectiveness in simulating human behavior, and the implications for experimental economics. The study aims to assess the reliability and validity of AI agents in replicating decisions and decision-making processes, as well as the potential benefits and limitations of replacing human subjects with AI in economic research.

  • Climate as a Global Public Good (DE/ENG)

    Bachelor thesis

The analysis should determine whether climate protection is a global public good and, if so, whether the classic free-rider problem inherent in public goods theory is present in this context, by doing a literature review. Within this framework, the effectiveness of international climate treaties and different governance mechanisms should be evaluated.

  • Programming and analysing an agent-based computational model

Master thesis (30 CP), Master thesis

Your task is to replicate the coding of an existing agent-based model using the platform Repast Simphony, or to code your model of choice using the platform Repast Simphony and analyse it. For the latter option, you may choose a textbook model you learned about during your studies, or a topic from another area of interest.

  • Replication study of an empirical research paper

Master thesis (30 CP), Master thesis

Your task is to replicate an empirical research paper with the data used in the original publication and add further robustness analyses, or to replicate the research paper using similar data, e.g. from another country.
